Hank McCullough, Ken Deon, and Charles Dalton Join Upstate Forever Board of Directors

GREENVILLE, SC — Upstate Forever is pleased to announce three new additions to its
Board of Directors: Hank McCullough, Ken Deon, and Charles Dalton.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hank, Ken, and Charles to our board,” said Upstate Forever Executive Director Andrea Cooper. “Not only are they knowledgeable industry leaders, they are community-minded individuals with significant experience serving on nonprofit boards. We look forward to their participation and insight as Upstate Forever works to protect the critical lands, waters, and unique character of Upstate South Carolina.”
Mr. McCullough currently serves as Senior Manager, Government Relations & Community for Piedmont Natural Gas, where he oversees legislative, policy, and grassroots activities relating to Piedmont’s operations in South Carolina and Western North Carolina. He is also responsible for local government interaction within Piedmont’s Upstate and Western North Carolina service areas and for coordination of the Company’s community, philanthropic, and economic development efforts. He currently serves on the boards of Ten at the Top, the Upstate SC Alliance, the Greenville Metropolitan Arts Council, the South Carolina Technology Aviation Center, and the Spartanburg Economic Futures Group. Mr. McCullough has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and is an avid competitive cyclist, runner, triathlete and outdoor adventurer. He has three grown children and lives with his wife in Taylors.
Mr. Deon is a retired partner with KPMG LLP’s Government Audit practice, where he has been devoted exclusively to serving state and local governments. Ken has managed large complex engagements, handled complex accounting and auditing issues in governmental settings, audited federal programs under OMB Circular A-133, and reviewed financial statements issued under GAAP prescribed for governments. During his career, Ken has worked on a diverse set of governmental clients including being the signing partner on a number of billion dollar governments and schools of higher education. Prior to becoming the KPMG Albany office managing partner, Ken spent 10 years in the firm’s Southeast region where he served as the partner in charge of the South Florida Government practice. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves on the Board of Directors of Yankee Farm Credit. Mr. Deon lives in Greer with his wife.
Mr. Dalton is the President and CEO of Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative. He has served on many local boards throughout his career, including Better Business Bureau of the Foothills, Upstate Alliance of South Carolina, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, IPTAY, the Clemson University Foundation, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Innovate Anderson, the Peace Center, and the South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission. He is a current member of the Upstate Heart Ball Executive Leadership Team and Chairman of the Upstate Board of Directors for the American Heart Association. Mr. Dalton is a graduate of Clemson University, and resides in Greenville with his wife. He has three children and three grandchildren.
