Apply for the Spring Citizens Planning Academy

January 3rd, 2020

Have you ever wondered how things get built in Greenville? Would you like to understand the role of the planning commission and city council in Greenville’s planning processes? Do you want to know how and why we should plan for future development that is 5, 10, or 15 years away?

Upstate Forever’s Citizens Planning Academy is an interactive 4-week course designed to help Greenville residents, business owners, and neighborhood leaders become more effective and influential participants in City of Greenville planning and land use policy efforts.

Participants in this 4-week course — dates and details below — will learn about a variety of planning and development topics, such as the history of planning, how development projects come together, and how to get involved in planning issues in your community. The course will also feature both formal presentations and interactive group exercises. Presenters and speakers include City staff, professional planners, and other built environment professionals, such as architects, developers, and builders.
