Erwin co-founded Delta Woodside Industries and served as its president and CEO from 1983 to 2000. He now does investment work through Maddrey and Associates.

Erwin is an exemplary leader in both the business and community sectors. He currently serves on the board of directors of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of South Carolina, Kemet Corporation, The Palmetto Project, South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts Foundation, Furman University, Public Education Partners, and Ten at the Top.

He is a graduate and former trustee of Davidson College and also received an MBA from the University of North Carolina.
