Mike Baur serves as Chair and Chief Executive Officer of ScanSource, Inc. Mike co-founded the company in 1992 in Greenville, SC, which today still serves as the company’s global headquarters. Led by an entrepreneurial spirit, Mike was committed to fulfilling a need in the technology channel. Today, ScanSource is a $3.3 billion, Fortune 1000, publicly traded company with 2,300 employees in North America and Brazil. Mike served as President of ScanSource from its inception until 2000, when he was named Chief Executive Officer. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1995, serving as Chair of the Board since February 2019.

Mike has a longstanding dedication to philanthropy, having instituted the employee-led ScanSource Charitable Foundation early in the company’s history. His commitment to the community and passion for protecting and cultivating the region has led him to serve on the Board of Directors of Upstate Forever since 2014. Mike has served on Clemson University’s President’s Advisory Board since 2021. He also previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Peace Center.

Mike is an Anderson, South Carolina native and attended Clemson University. He and his wife, Laura, have been married for 35 years and have four children and six grandchildren.
