Scott Park is an AICP-certified planner and holds both a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from Florida Atlantic University. His early professional career included spearheading a successful land acquisition and preservation program in his native South Florida. He completed The Nature Conservancy’s Natural Areas Training Academy, which helped hone natural land management prescriptions for newly acquired sites.
Before joining the Upstate Forever team in 2016, Scott spent ten years working in local government — from the Pee Dee to the Upstate — focusing on food systems, land use, transportation, land trusts, and comprehensive planning, providing a deep perspective into how we succeed in making a better South Carolina.
Scott lives in Greenville with his family. He enjoys hiking, biking, running, and working native plant species (especially those with tasty fruit) into the urban landscape. If you see him on weekends, he’ll most likely be striking up a conversation with farmers at our various local farmers’ markets.
