As Land Policy Grassroots Specialist, Tre’Dessa Smalls utilizes her passion for grassroots advocacy to help communities focus on Land Planning & Policy issues that are plaguing them. In her role, Tre’Dessa places a special focus on underserved and underrepresented communities. She works hard to elevate community members’ voices to create change.

Tre’Dessa is from Burgess, SC, a community just south of Myrtle Beach. After graduating from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Affairs, Tre’Dessa decided to stay in Greenville where she became a teacher. Following her teaching career, Tre’Dessa worked with several nonprofit organizations in the Greenville area before finding her way to Upstate Forever.

In her spare time, you can find Tre’Dessa spending quality time with her mom and siblings, trying new types of food, and singing or creating poetry.
